10 Jul Audi RS6 – Front End Xpel Ultimate Plus Coverage
Introduction
We have just finished this beautiful 2019 Audi RS6, with Xpel Ultimate Plus paint protection film applied to the bonnet, wings, bumper and wing mirrors.
While the vehicles overall condition was good, the new owner had highlighted some existing stone chips and wanted to avoid getting anything further which could spoil the finish.
This car had no protection applied to it from new, which we have given its value and colour, we found unbelievable.
The new owner clearly cared more and decided to go for the very best and prevent this stunning machine from suffering any more damage.
In this blog, we will share our experiences, tech specs and some truly interesting features of this superb vehicle.
Technical specifications
- Engine – 4.0 litre Twin Turbo V8
- Power – 605 bhp
- Max Torque – 750 (Nm)
- Acceleration (0-60mph) – 3.7 seconds
- Top Speed – 155mph
- Fuel Consumption – 29 mpg
- Transmission – Automatic
Performance features
- Air suspension with shock absorption control
- Dynamic all-wheel steering
- Quattro Sports differential
- Quattro All wheel drive
Colour
Black, or Panther Black Crystal, in this case, is a stunning colour, but one that requires some serious care and protection.
The primer underneath the paint colour is white, and we understand from our paint shop friends that this is to make the colour on top more vibrant.
However, the downside is a deep stone chip, no matter how small, will then be visible from space.
As we mentioned briefly, a ceramic coating is great, but can only do so much to protect your vehicle.
If protecting your cars future value and aesthetic is your primary concern, then paint protection film is the only solution.
Complexity
The only comment we have on the complexity of this Audi is the sheer size of the panels!
It’s only once the vehicle is up on the ramp that you fully appreciate how large, wide and long this car really is.
The engine is massive and as such the surrounding panels are not only large but Audi have designed aerodynamic ridges along with both the bonnet and wings which require some attention to get the install right.
While Audi has designed an absolute beast of a machine in the RS6, the Xpel Ultimate Plus PPF installation on this model requires a lot of time and effort to get right across such a large area.
The effort and time DSJ put into the installation, is matched only by the superb training and support we receive from Xpel.
This is why we install Xpel PPF exclusively.
Keep an eye out for our next PPF blog, featuring a stunning Mercedes AMG C63s in Black.
